Frequently asked questions
- What exactly does Timespective do?
- You define up to eight life pillars (like Career, Family, or Fitness), give each a weekly hour target, then tap once a day to log that you showed up for it. A polar-area chart fills in over the week so you can see what you are neglecting, hitting, or overdoing.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no password inside the app. Your data lives on your device. Your subscription is tied to your App Store or Google Play account, not to a Timespective account.
- How much does Timespective cost?
- It starts with a one-month free trial. After that you can subscribe monthly or yearly (the yearly plan saves about 33% over paying monthly), or buy lifetime access once. The exact price is shown in your local currency on the App Store or Google Play before you confirm — reference pricing is around €1.99/month, €15.99/year, or €59.99 for lifetime. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase: it never renews and there is nothing to cancel.
- What does lifetime access include?
- The app and all future updates to it, for as long as Timespective is offered. There is no separate charge for new versions or new features in the app. The one exception is optional services that cost money to run for each person — cloud sync, if it ships — which may be offered separately; the app itself stays yours. Because there is no account, lifetime access is tied to the store account you bought it with, so use Restore purchases on a new device.
- What happens when the free trial ends?
- If you do not subscribe, the app switches to a read-only state: your pillars and history stay on your device and you can still view and export everything, but logging new days needs an active subscription. Nothing is deleted.
- How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings — deleting the app does not cancel it. A lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel: it never renews. Refunds are handled by the app store under its own policy, not by us.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. Your pillars, logs, streaks, and settings are stored on your device and nothing is transmitted today. Crash diagnostics are off by default and strictly opt-in. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
- What does it mean when a week is “balanced”?
- Balance means every active pillar's weekly total landed in its optimal zone against its full weekly target. Archived pillars, and pillars not scheduled that week, are excluded. If a week looks balanced or unbalanced unexpectedly, check which pillars were actually active that week.
- My data disappeared. Can you recover it?
- Your data is only on your device, so there is no server-side copy to restore. The usual causes are: using “Delete all data” (which is irreversible), setting up a new phone without completing a backup restore, or reinstalling the app. If you moved phones, your data may still be on the old device.
- I exported my data but cannot import it back. Why?
- Export exists; import does not yet (it is planned for after launch). The exported JSON is readable and the CSVs open in any spreadsheet, but the current app cannot read either back in.
- Will there be cloud sync?
- A cloud-sync option is planned for a future version, but it does not exist today, and no data leaves your device in the current app. If sync ships, it will be opt-in and the privacy policy and store declarations will be updated first. Because running a sync service costs money per person, it may be priced separately from the app — including for lifetime buyers, whose purchase covers the app and its updates.
- Which platforms are supported?
- Timespective is available now on Google Play for Android. An iOS version is in the works — leave your email on the home page and you will get a single email when it reaches the App Store.
